As photonics technologies become increasingly mature, systems such as sensors and computers that relied exclusively on electronics are now starting to benefit from optics. Bright aims at accelerating that revolution via cutting edge fundamental and applied research in nonlinear and quantum photonics.

Nonlinear & Quantum
optics laboratory

BRIGHT is a joint lab of two Belgian universities: Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Ghent University (UGent). Our research focus on nonlinear and quantum optics in specialty fibers and photonic integrated circuits (PICs). BRIGHT was created in 2019 following several research projects jointly conducted by members of OPERA (ULB) and of the Photonics Research Group (UGent).

OPERA-photonics

OPERA-photonics is a research group within the école polytechnique de Bruxelles.

Photonics Research Group

The Photonics Research Group is a unit within the department of information technology at the faculty of engineering at UGent and is an associated lab of imec focusing on photonics integration.
